Fresh from the studio:
Kicking off spring with color & connection

INSPIRE, ENCOURAGE, GUIDE…REPEAT

Last week I had the pleasure of facilitating a sneaker painting workshop—and it was an absolute blast! These kinds of creative experiences are some of my favorite to lead, and over the years I’ve found that a few key things make all the difference.

First, we start with inspiration—lots of it. I always come prepared with visual examples and ideas to help participants spark a plan they feel excited about. Then we talk about expectations. I like to remind everyone: you can do anything, but you can't do everything. That one sentence sets the tone—it frees people up to focus, simplify, and enjoy the process instead of trying to do too much.

Time is another biggie. I always do my best to build in enough space to finish well (and feel proud of the result). And perhaps most important of all: keep the vibe encouraging. Emotions are a part of the process, and I make sure every student knows that just about anything can be fixed—or better yet, turned into a “happy accident,” as Bob Ross would say.

ADULT WORKSHOPS TOO

Did you know I speak, teach, and facilitate creative workshops for both kids and adults? From schools to studios to team-building events, I love creating space for creativity to bloom! I’ve got some exciting local workshops in the works here in New England (stay tuned!), and if you’d like to bring the magic to your classroom, living room, or workplace—please get in touch!
