Philly Slang, Cocktails & Collages

June 9, 2025

What’s Philly slang, cocktails & collage art got in common? Turns out, me!

It’s swim season, and I just took a deep dive into something unexpected:
Philly cheesesteak lingo.
Do you know how to order one like a true local?
I had to learn the dialect fast! “Wit” or “Witout” onions… and yes, Cheese Whiz is absolutely a thing. (Apparently, it’s a culinary hill people are willing to die on.) So yes—you can actually order a Whiz Wit or a Whiz Witout, and it means something!

It’s the little surprises like this that make my design work extra fun.

This spring has been full of creative twists:
🎨 Imperial’s Catering of Pennsylvania has been a client of mine for about a year now. They’re part of a growing list of clients I’ve never met in person but still feel deeply connected to as their go-to designer. (a few of their many signs are above)

✂️ I recently hosted two collage workshops using my newest books, Cut & Create for Collage: Rebel Muse and Bright Side and watching how different and deeply personal each participant’s project turned out was so amazingly satisfying for me! I’ve got more coming up soon if you're local and craving a creative night out.

📚 Behind the scenes, I’ve been helping people publish their own books on Amazon. Whether it’s a passion project, a memoir, or a way to boost your professional credibility, self-publishing is more accessible than most people realize—and I love guiding folks through the process.

If any of this sparked something… maybe you know someone who could use specialty signage, or you’ve been meaning to treat yourself to a creative workshop or one of my collage books on Amazon, or you’ve got a book idea of your own and don’t know where to start, please reach out!

Let’s Create!
