Desert Moon (24x36" Poster, Unframed)
The titles of my Cars & Guitars series are all based on emotional connections that I make to a song and then to the piece I’m working on. Sometimes there’s a big story, sometimes it’s just tiny details such as colors or contours of the subject matter that help me see a connection between the art and a musical memory. This piece moved in a direction of being washed in rich golds and oranges that reminded me of the desert and Desert Moon has one of my favorite lyrics of all time in it: “Moments pass and time moves on but dreams remain just as long as there’s dreamers.” Tip of the hat to Dennis DeYoung (of Styx fame) who composed & recorded Desert Moon, (and to Tom Dziallo for his beautiful guitar work on it).
